Vale Alf Bunting
Published Fri 26 Aug 2022
It is with great sadness that Softball W.A. mourns the passing of our Hall of Fame and Life Member.
Alf was a member of the Association in the very early years of the Association. He was a member and Coach of Blue Jays.
He held the position of Association Treasurer for 2 years. He took time away from the game to establish his own Furniture manufacturing business. However, when his girls were old enough to play the game he once again became involved with Demons where he took on the role of Coaching a Junior team. |
He served on the Association’s Management Committee from 1979-1992 & was Junior Vice President 1988-1992
When W.A. hosted Nationals he was always willing to lend a hand. One year he donated a ton of fertiliser to ensure the diamonds at Mirrabooka were in pristine condition for the Nationals.
Together with Reg. Page, he organised the building of the Canteen at Yokine Reserve, and outfitted the canteen with the counters and cupboards.
He was a member building committee for Mirrabooka and was responsible for internal fittings of Mirrabooka.
He was a member of the Meritorious Awards Committee from 2015 until he tendered his resignation recently.
Our sport has lost another valuable volunteer and he will be sadly missed by his friends.
Rest easy dear friend
