Published Fri 13 May 2022
Softball WA is thrilled to announce 2020 Tokyo Olympian Leigh Godfrey as the lead coach to run Softball Australia's new Performance Training Centre program in Western Australia. The Performance Training Centre's are a pilot program by Softball Australia to get Australia's next generation of Female talent prepared for International Tournaments, and Softball's potential inclusion at the 2028 Los Angeles and 2032 Brisbane Olympics.
Leigh not only brings to the table a wealth of International and State team experience to this program, but also has a career in high performance training through her work at Diamond Fitness. Leigh is a fantastic advocate for our sport and to all WA Softballers.
Leigh has stated that she believes the program she has created will be the best in Australia, with the skills and training undertaken by those in selected in the program being easily transfered and adapted to all state team programs.
Softball WA will soon be recieving names of those selected in the program.
Softball WA would also like to acknowledge Diamond Fitness for their help in making this project possible.
