SportWest: Rebel Community Champion of the Month
Published Fri 01 Apr 2022
Softball WA would like to make our members aware of the SportWest Rebel Community Champion of the Month nomination process for Softball WA clubs to recognise individuals from the WA softball community for their outstanding performances in social/community sport participation.
Criteria for Nomination
Individuals can be nominated for their efforts at any level of community sport and may include, but are not limited to:
- An excellent performance or performance in the context of the level of the sport (eg – a third-grade cricketer taking five wickets would be considered in the same light as a Test cricketer taking five wickets).
- All performances during the month or the match/event of note should be included.
- The performance(s) must take place in competitions and/or events endorsed by, affiliated with or delivered by a SportWest Member organisation.
- Outstanding contributions to other aspects of club activities and operations are also able to be considered, including outstanding service to an event or club operations.
- Outstanding contributions may include but not be limited to playing, coaching, officiating and volunteer roles within community sport.
How to Nominate
Nominations are to be lodged by the final day of the calendar month to admin@softballwa.org.au with the subject: SportWest: Community Champion Nomination. Softball WA will then correlate the nominations and lodge the endorsed nominations to SportWest.
What to Include in the Nomination?
- Please include in your nomination the performance and/or contribution of a person from community sport. The description should include as much detail as possible about the performance, including the relevant date/s and location/s.
- All nominations are to be accompanied by a photo of the nominee with approval for public use by SportWest for promotional purposes of this award, promoting the support of Rebel Sport for community sport in Western Australia.
What Happens if you Win?
The Rebel Community Sport Champion of the Month will receive a $200 Rebel Gift Card. Where possible, the winner will meet at their local Rebel store to receive their prize and for photo opportunities. SportWest will promote the monthly winner through digital platforms.
SportWest Selection
SportWest will assess the nominated candidates from the pool received each month and notify the winner of the Rebel Community Sport Champion of the Month.
